Hi everyone! My name is Marina. In my 25 years I am already the mother of a beautiful girl. I want to tell you how to maintain healthy hair during pregnancy. Hair problems have been felt since the 9th week of pregnancy (at about 2 months), by this time I already knew about my position. The dull look, the split ends and the countless field of hair on the floor after scratching - all this was an unpleasant bonus of a growing tummy. First of all, I stopped painting my braids.

Fortunately, it was summer, and I also threw a hair dryer, allowing my curls to dry without the participation of high temperatures. But even the reduction of chemical and thermal effects did not improve the condition of the hair. When you are pregnant, thoughts of harm to the unborn child are in the first place. So I decided not to use the finished products offered by cosmetic companies, but turned to natural hair care products during pregnancy.

I tried out many options for masks and rinses - some of them gave instant results, while others were useless. Since the length of my hair is higher than the average, the costs for the components increased by 3-4 times. And future childbirth is a costly business, and I had savings in everything. Therefore, I did not excel, but used the most accessible elements. Through trial and error, I brought for myself an ideal program to restore the health of hair and prevent their weakening, which I recommend to you.

Masks for hair during pregnancy

I made masks 2 times a week - on Wednesday and Sunday. It was my weekend, and I could walk around the apartment with a turban for a whole day.

The masks presented below are designed for long hair, so for short / medium hair, you can reduce the proportions.

• the mask should be at room temperature (heated on a steam bath),

• exposure time 50–60 minutes,

• the mask should be washed off with a special rinse aid, and only after it with water.

• masks alternate each time to make at least one type at least once a month.

I selected the composition of the masks so that the hair received additional nourishment, restored its structure (especially the split ends) and reduced hair loss.

1. 5 tablespoons of coconut oil + 3 drops of cocoa butter + 3 drops of camphor oil,

2. 1 bag of blue clay, diluted to a creamy consistency + 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil + 2 tablespoons of avocado oil (it can be exchanged for olive oil),

3. Aloe juice (1 stalk 13–15 cm long) + 150 g fatty sour cream (or cream),

4. 1 bag of blue clay + 5 tablespoons of burdock oil. After the time has passed the exposure of the mask to the hair, you need to wash it off. But do not rush to do it under running water.

First, before washing off the mask, I recommend having a head massage so that the mixture is absorbed into the hair roots, and secondly, the mask is better washed off and there is no feeling of weighting, if you apply the rinse, after which my head with plain water.

I use such tools:

1. Diluted with apple cider vinegar. I have a convenient jug in which I make an acetic solution - for 3 liters of water half a glass of vinegar, preferably natural. This solution perfectly washes fats from the hair.

2. Citrus solution. At 3 liters of water I take a little more than half a lemon or a whole orange. The aroma of hair is beyond words, and the feeling of freshness remains for the whole day. (Make sure you are not allergic to citrus)

3. A decoction of chamomile. To do this, in a liter jar pour 2.5 tablespoons of chamomile and pour boiling water over them. Just as long as you hold the mask, the camomile is drawn in, and after 40 minutes it is ready. Strained, diluted with water (to make my favorite 3 liters) and can be washed off.

With these simple procedures, I went to give birth with perfect hair. Moreover, during breastfeeding, I continued to use masks and rinse solutions. But, at the same time, I replaced coconut oil with olive oil and removed citrus components in order to avoid allergy in my daughter.

Hair "in position"

Pregnancy is the golden time for hair. Most women can boast luxurious, thick curls. This is due to the fact that the amount of hair in the hair loss stage in the second and third trimesters decreases to 5% (whereas 10% is considered the norm). In other words, during the waiting period for the crumbs, the hair growth stage is lengthened. This magnificent gift to the ladies makes the placenta - it is she who from the 20th week of pregnancy throws into the blood a large amount of the female sex hormones estrogen, which is a factor in hair growth. Thanks to them, hair grows longer than normal and becomes more dense.

Only a small percentage of women during pregnancy have hair loss. This may be the result of transferred diseases associated with an increase in temperature, taking certain medications (for example, lowering blood pressure), psycho-emotional stress.

Do without loss

Women will face hair loss after the appearance of the long-awaited offspring. For many of them, this can be a real shock. Who would like to leave part of their once luxurious head of hair on a pillow or comb? However, in most cases, such abundant hair loss refers to normal postpartum phenomena and is considered physiological.

The hormonal level of the woman returns to normal and the time frame of the hair growth stages returns to normal. And then the hair begins to fall out and those that are scheduled according to schedule, and those that "linger" on the head during pregnancy. Only in some cases, the pathology of postpartum hair loss can be any pathology, for example, diseases of the thyroid gland (thyroiditis), iron deficiency, postpartum depression.

In more rare situations, hair loss is associated with an increase in the sensitivity of a woman to male hormones (in small quantities they exist in her body). But they are the ones who aggressively affect the hair follicles. Face with such a significant loss of hair there is a risk only if the woman has a genetic predisposition to it. All the above cases will not be resolved by themselves, even if a year or two passes after delivery. The problem can be solved only with the help of a specialist.

How to solve a problem

Be sure to visit the doctor and check the condition of the thyroid gland. Also eliminate iron deficiency anemia and latent iron deficiency. When they are detected, an appropriate correction is necessary to restore the body's iron stores. Does not interfere and a blood test for hormones.
Exclude all the factors that aggravate the period of postpartum hair loss. Do not forget - this is a normal process. Drop out only hair, which relies "on schedule." And as soon as you say goodbye to them, the problem will stop bothering you. Your feelings about the loss of luxurious "pregnant" hair will only aggravate the situation. Stress disrupts the blood supply and nutrition of the hair follicles, which inhibits the transition of hair, which is in a resting stage, in the growth phase. Do not forget about taking multivitamin complexes, since breastfeeding continues to increase the consumption of nutrients - some of them go to the production of breast milk.
Choose a suitable external treatment that can accelerate the restoration of normal "change" of hair.

Placenta-based preparations are considered to be the most useful during this period. However, it is worth using drugs from well-established companies - sterile and having undergone a special treatment process. In this case, all the amino acids and proteins, nucleic acids, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, micro- and macroelements, coenzyme Q10 are absorbed by the scalp.

School repair

Naughty, emaciated, dull strands - many women write off all these troubles for pregnancy and childbirth. However, in most cases they are associated with improper hair care.

In a healthy hair, the cuticle scales covering it fit snugly together. In this case, the strands glitter and attract the attention of others. If the scales bristle, then the sunlight reflects from them in different (sometimes opposite) directions. Hair in such a situation looks dull and lifeless.

All means are good!

Modern manufacturers of hair cosmetics promise that only thanks to shampoo and conditioner you will be able to accelerate hair growth, add shine to curls, make them more docile and shiny. Why, then, need numerous masks, serums, oils and balms?

The main task of any detergent is to remove contamination. It is rather difficult to expect from him any other effect, because the shampoo contacts the scalp and hair for no longer than a minute. The exception is medical shampoos designed to eliminate problems associated with the scalp. This product is recommended to leave on the hair for 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse.

How to choose

The principle of individuality in this case works for one hundred percent - shampoo, which is praised by friends, may not suit you. Otherwise, it is important to be guided by the following principles:

if you have dry, oily or sensitive scalp - select a shampoo to eliminate these signs,
if everything is in order with the scalp - we are guided by the needs of the hair shaft - does it need hydration, volume or nutrition.

Air conditioning

Its function is to level the hair structure after cleansing. In fact, it makes no sense to apply it on the scalp, because it works only with the hair shaft.

How to choose

Focus exclusively on the needs of the hair and the problems that you want to solve.

These cosmetics work with both the scalp and the hair shaft itself. The concentration of beneficial substances in masks is much higher than in shampoos. In addition, they are in a form that is easily assimilated by our body. For example, a special keratin protein that provides the elasticity and resilience of the hair is too large to penetrate through its pores. In order for it to have a real effect on the hair, it is cut into smaller pieces, i.e. it is hydrated. Especially good in the composition of the masks is hydrated keratin of wheat - it has a high similarity with the proteins of the hair.

How to choose

Focus on the needs of the hair and scalp. If you are concerned about the greasiness of the hair, masks with clay will be suitable, products with the addition of debazole and vitamin B will cope with dandruff, cosmetics with panthenol, chamomile and calendula extracts will help reduce the sensitivity of the scalp.

Otherwise, to achieve the desired effect, follow the rules of application. The remedy itself is distributed on wet, slightly towel-dried hair and scalp.

Keep the mask strictly in accordance with the recommendations. There are products that need to be left on the hair from 3 minutes to an hour.
Do not overdo it with masks. Otherwise, the hair will look heavy and “overfed”. If they are severely damaged, it is permissible to apply the product after each wash. In other cases, it is better to dwell on the use of masks once or twice a week.

Oils and serums for hair

These are indelible products that are usually applied to the ends of freshly washed hair. In case of severe damage to the curls, it is permissible to distribute the oils and serums over the entire length or apply them to the tips of dried hair. Such cosmetics work with the hair shaft most effectively. This is due to the fact that the nutrients contained in them, penetrate into the structure of the hair and even after washing the head partially remain inside. Thus, with the regular use of oils and serums, accumulation of beneficial components in the hair structure occurs. As a result - the hair looks healthy, shiny and beautiful.

It is believed that with properly selected indelible products even very damaged and lifeless hair can be restored.

How to choose

Best of all, if this will help you a professional, examining the features of your hair. Otherwise, a suitable product for each woman is detected by trial and error. If after using oil or serum, the hair is shiny, does not shine, and the products themselves do not make them heavier, then this is what you need.

When choosing be sure to consider the structure of the hair. For thin - it is better to stay on light products with a minimum amount of fatty acids and nutrients, if the hair shaft is thick - then you can afford more nourishing oils and serums.

Color proof

Modern women in the "interesting" position do not want to change their habits. This also applies to the procedures of personal care, in particular, hair coloring. For a long time it was considered extremely unhealthy and was forbidden to future moms in the strictest way. Now the composition of the dyes has changed, and gynecologists and stylists have come to the same opinion - staining is allowed, but with some reservations. In the first trimester of pregnancy, it is better not to resort to it - during this period, the development of crumbs occurs, so that any outside influence is undesirable. Otherwise, it is important to choose the right coloring agent, focusing on the desired result and the condition of the hair.

Permanent dyes

They contain ammonia and are able to lighten natural hair for 4–5 tones. This is due to the fact that the substances contained in such paints destroy the natural pigment of curls. Dye molecules are embedded in its place, they act inside the hair, accumulating in the cortex. That is why, when the color is washed out, it is not very easy to regain its original shade, because some of the natural pigments are destroyed, the hair itself becomes reddish-copper.

pros

With the help of permanent dyes it is possible to radically change the image. In addition, using them, you can 100% paint over gray hair.

Minuses

In these colors, a high percentage of oxidizer (from 3 to 12%), and, therefore, they are able to dry out the hair. In addition, these tools are more traumatic for hair.

Semi-permanent dyes

Able to lighten the hair just one tone, however, they have many other advantages. Due to the fact that these dyes do not contain ammonia, but only its derivatives (for example, alanine), and have a low percentage of oxidizing emulsion (1.5–4%), they act less aggressively on the hair. As a result, the curls look more alive and shiny.

pros

First, these colors contain components that are beneficial to hair, which give them a healthier and more well-groomed appearance. These include a variety of oils, beeswax, royal jelly, fruit extracts. Secondly, the coloring molecules are deposited mainly in the sheath of the hair - the cuticle, which means they do not destroy the natural pigment in the hair cavity. So, if you decide to change the shade of the strands by 1-2 tones, you will be able to avoid the effect of “regrown roots”. The color will gradually leach out of the cuticle, and the difference between the roots and dyed hair will not be so noticeable.

Minuses

Covers only 50% of gray hair only if the paint is evenly distributed throughout the hair.

Tint means

These are dyes of the so-called direct deposition, which do not mix with the oxidizing agent. They can be in the form of a gel, cream or mousse. Coloring molecules of coloring agents stick to the surface of the cuticle, therefore they are quickly washed away.

pros

In addition to the fact that these products contain a lot of hair care components, there is an opportunity to quickly get rid of a shade that you didn’t like - to do this, just wash your hair every day.

Minuses

If the hair is porous or has undergone a lightening procedure, there is a risk that the pigment of the coloring agent will penetrate into the hair cortex.

Non-contact staining

This includes classical highlighting - dyeing individual strands - or brondirovanie, when the paint is applied to the curls with strokes, it creates the effect of burnt hair. In this situation, the contact of the dye with the scalp is minimized, which significantly reduces the risk of possible allergies to cosmetics in women.

What kind of changes are the hair during pregnancy?

The answer to this question, according to experts, can be twofold. In general, during pregnancy, the woman's body “works for two”, respectively, the body's metabolic processes occur in a double volume, which rejuvenate and act favorably at the cellular level. Therefore, in most pregnant women, the condition of the hair improves significantly: the hair becomes more silky and thick, their excessive loss stops. But, as well as the activation of other functions, in some cases there is an exacerbation of problematic diseases that were asymptomatic before pregnancy. In such cases, the problem should be solved with the help of drug treatment prescribed in view of pregnancy. Of course, “restless” hormones can also provoke worsening of the hair condition. They can affect not only the condition of the hair, but also play a cruel joke on the growth process. For example, in some women during pregnancy, there is “hirsutism” - male-type hair growth, that is, on the arms, legs, and face, the signs of which disappear sharply after childbirth.

Should I dye my hair during pregnancy?

Among the older generation there is a perception that hair during pregnancy cannot be cut and dyed. But today, pregnant women are hardly ready to accept this opinion as the truth, to refuse hair care for a long nine months and to deprive themselves of the pleasure of being beautiful. Of course, as with any dispute, opponents fall into two categories: the first - those who support the opinion, the second - his opponents. The same situation arises when discussing the possibility of hair coloring. Some women claim that dyeing hair during pregnancy is contraindicated, while others, guided by their own experience, argue that such a procedure cannot cause harm. On whose side is the truth?

Unfortunately, today, no one knows, even the professor of medicine, who knows the exact and truthful answer. Indeed, such experiments have not been carried out so far, on the basis of which definite conclusions could be drawn that could refute or confirm one of the opinions. The only thing that is reliably known and proven is the property of the influence of the chemical components of paints, which causes allergic reactions. Moreover, no one knows what to expect when these substances interact with the body in non-controlling hormonal balance. Maybe it will be an unusual color result, and chemical damage to the scalp.

There are also informational data that states that chemicals through the skin of the mother can get into the blood and cause harm to the child. But there is no scientific evidence for this, therefore such an assertion remains an unproved hypothesis. But still there is a risk. The group of special risk includes ammonia compounds of hair-dye, the inhalation of which is strictly forbidden to expectant mothers. Therefore, if you still can not refuse to dye, choose to use coloring shampoos or sparing paints based on natural dyes: henna, basma and others.

Pregnancy is not a contraindication for hair care.

Women's hair always requires care, and it doesn’t matter if the owner is pregnant or not. Pregnant women only need to know the basic rules of hair care at this crucial stage of their life.

First of all, Remember that the direct path to luxurious and healthy hair are hardening, restful sleep and rest, and, of course, walks in the fresh air.

Secondly, It is time to remember the grandmother's advice and use them without shame of conscience. For example, you can use masks from egg yolk with honey and aloe juice, you can wash your hair with whey or rye bread. Also a great remedy is a yeast hair mask.

Thirdly, Massage sessions for the scalp are recommended. Massaging movements should start from the sides of the head, and end with the crown. The duration of the massage should be at least 15 minutes daily. At the same time it is important that the procedure brings pleasure and has a relaxing effect.

Fourth, metal combs should be replaced with more gentle, for example, wooden or made of natural bristles.

Fifth, we should not forget that nutrition is the main factor in the index of hair condition. Therefore, balance your daily diet, avoiding sweets, spices and preservatives. Enter more wholesome fruits, vegetables and natural products. After all, your diet should not only maintain and improve the condition of the hair, but also help the body carry a precious little person.

Problem: hair loss

Hair care during pregnancy

It seems that a fairy arrives to some girls during pregnancy, who donate their thick and beautiful hair, but in fact there are no magical forces involved in this process. “Estrogens play the role of wizards in this case. At the 20th week of pregnancy, the placenta ejects a huge amount of these hormones into the blood **. ** They make hair tighter, prolong the growth phase of the strands. Therefore, the hair seems thicker ", - explains Domenico Castello, top stylist, salon managerDomenicoCastello_._

Why, then, some pregnant women suffer from hair loss? The whole thing is in the resources of the body - in the waiting period of the baby, he works on two fronts: it provides the mother and the child with useful substances. If the combat reserves in the form of vitamins, minerals and before pregnancy were not enough in the body, they are quickly depleted. Since it is these substances that are the main suppliers of building materials for hair, it is not surprising that they do not fall out of construction bricks.

How to stop hair loss

2. Take a multivitamin. Consult your doctor if you can take a multivitamin and what specific you need.

3. Choose the right care products. Use hair care products that work with the problem of hair loss. They contain vitamins, minerals, proteins, oils and plant extracts that strengthen the hair shaft.

Problem: greasy or dry hair

Hair care during pregnancy

Another problem can be a dramatic change in hair type. Often pregnant complain that strands become too dry or oily.

“The hormonal background is changing, and it greatly affects the functioning of the sebaceous glands. They start too much or, conversely, produce little secret, and this affects the quality of the hair, ”says Domenico.

How to restore hair health

Hair care during pregnancy

1. Adjust hair care. If before pregnancy your hair was of a normal type, and you used the appropriate means, now you need to pay attention to those cosmetic lines that will solve the problems you have with the scalp, that is, products for oily or dry hair. The first actively nourish and moisturize, making the curls live and less brittle, eliminating the peeling and feeling of tightening the scalp, the second regulate the sebaceous glands, eliminating the unhealthy glossy shine of the strands.

2. Wash your hair with room temperature water. Hot water stimulates the sebaceous glands and dries the scalp.

3. Use thermometers as rarely as possible. If you can dry your hair naturally, do it better. Hot air blow dryer or styling gadget exposure also stimulates the sebaceous glands.

4. Consult a professional. If you can not find the care yourself, contact a professional in the beauty salon.

Hair coloring

If your curls look better colored, and you feel great without gray hair and regrown roots, then continue painting them during pregnancy. Despite the fact that the penetration of chemicals into the scalp is minimal with such a procedure, still, opt for gentle paints. Especially in the first trimester of pregnancy, while the main organs of the fetus are laid.

We draw your attention to the fact that under the influence of hormones, the reaction of dyeing or perm can be unpredictable, so try to use the paint without ammonia.

What is changing?

Basically, all changes in the state of hair during childbirth are associated with changes in hormonal levels. There are lucky girls who change in this period, their curls become thick and voluminous, and hair growth accelerates. Others, on the contrary, get dandruff, hair becomes brittle, dry and lifeless, or fatter.

In the people on this score there will be many will, they say that girls pull beauty out of mother, and boys, on the contrary. In fact, everything can be associated with internal processes in the body. The baby may not get the substances necessary for development. For example, a lack of calcium makes the curls lifeless, nails begin to exfoliate, and the skin loses its healthy color.

Also, the state of the hair can be affected by mood swings, stress, change of preferences in the diet of the future mother, overwork.

Not only the period of pregnancy affects the beauty of the mother, the hair behaves unpredictably during the breastfeeding period and after childbirth. If the strands are transformed during pregnancy, after birth, the hair begins to actively fall out and dim. So that this does not happen, you need to properly care for them while carrying a baby.

Folk beliefs are trying to protect the future mother from the troubles associated with hair. They say that you can not cut your hair, dyed, curl and so on. Can you believe it? And what is the right hair care at home for the future mother.

Recommended during pregnancy

First of all, a pregnant woman should take care of the diet. A balanced diet will help preserve the beauty, health, and that much important figure after childbirth. The difficulty lies in the fact that pregnant women change their taste tastes, and they now and then want to eat some junk food.

Be sure to give up harmful products. For the beauty of hair in the diet add more greens, cereals, meat, poultry, beans, nuts, seafood. In general, the diet of a pregnant woman is not much different from the correct diet before conception. Only you need to eat more vitamins of group B, vitamins A, C, E and calcium. After all, the baby is growing, and if he does not have enough "food", he takes it from her mother.

In general, the care of curls does not change much, the main thing is that it be natural and natural. Drying should take place naturally. In shampoos, rinses and other cosmetics should be as little as possible chemistry, which is why cosmetics are better to prepare yourself. The condition of the strands in the period of carrying a child can change dramatically, so you should use products only for the type of hair that you currently have.

Plastic combs should be replaced with wood or natural bristles. Wooden brushes are convenient to do massage. Self-massage of the head is welcomed during washing the head, before going to bed, it is done 2-3 times a day. In addition to speeding up blood circulation, it helps relieve stress and relax. The same is the use of combing, the hair follicles are stirred up, saturated with necessary components, metabolism is activated in them.

It makes no sense to believe the old omens, about haircuts and dyeing. You can get a haircut, and painted too. Only paints should be natural, for example, henna or basma. It is harmful to use chemical paints and cosmetics before pregnancy, therefore, in general, nothing changes. In general, a pregnant woman should see in herself a well-groomed, attractive woman and in no case should she forget about it!

Restrictions on the period of pregnancy

In pursuit of beauty, the expectant mother should remember that the most cautious of herself should be in the first trimester of pregnancy, at this time the baby is especially vulnerable. You should not eat vitamin complexes that are specifically aimed at hair growth, they are not adapted for pregnant women.

Be sure to exclude all chemical cosmetics, it will harm you and the baby. This perm, dyeing and so on. Restrictions apply to other aggressive means, such as mustard and pepper masks. Prohibited warming cosmetics, which raises the temperature. As little stress as possible!

Forget about hair dryers, ironing and curling, use them only as a last resort and in a sparing mode. Try not to use stiff hairstyles, hairpins, it disrupts blood flow and contributes to hair loss, drying, brittle hair.

  • Apply warm kefir on your head, wrap yourself in cellophane, so go up to an hour and a half. The mask perfectly nourishes weak, lifeless hair.

In addition to masks and rinses prepare homemade shampoo, it will turn out natural and effective. Home Shampoo Recipes:

  • Normal type of hair fit gelatin shampoo. One tablespoon must be poured 100g of water. After forty minutes, add the egg yolk to it and apply it on the hair for 20 minutes, then rinse it off.
  • Restore locks with shampoo from rye bread and kefir. Combine the ingredients (100g), remove them for 2 hours in the heat, then mix with a mixer. Cooked mass of my head.
  • For oily hair, use shampoo with brandy. Need 50 ml of alcohol and one egg. Mix the components and wash the curls, well rubbing the composition of the roots.

Do not forget to devote time to the beauty of your hair, this is the business card of any woman. Of course, you can go to the salon, the experts will select the necessary procedures, but still more serious measures should be left for the period after the birth of the child.
